"Very caring and professional staff"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / 1 East (Ophthalmology)

(as the patient),

I’m writing this feedback because you have three of your nurses in the level one 1E Sydney, Sydney Eye Hospital who are Chris, Bianca and Charms.

All three nurses have the quality of outstanding service to their patients, in my opinion. I feel you rarely see and get to have a wonderful experience at a hospital with nurses.

But these three nurses were so kind and understanding, I was away from my young family and kids, was emotional and worried about what I might have and that if I do have a serious disorder, I wasn’t going to be at my best to care for my family.

They pulled me through the days and night, Chris and Bianca were here in the morning and it was wonderful. Chris would make you laugh and reassure it’s ok and everything is good. He was always professional, very knowledgeable, always approachable, always available when you needed his assistance, he even prepared me for my MRI just by providing with information about the process and said don’t worry it will be over before you know it, put music on and it will make it feel not as intense. Organised transport pickup before he went home. Honestly I was so happy when I saw him in the mornings cheerful, I believe he gets along with everyone and you always see him with a patient or assisting a nurse, takes the time to help other nurses and is very patient. Chris is always approachable, caring and lifts you up, always checking on you asking if you are okay, do u need anything, he is always working and busy but at the same time I felt he always showed the patients they are a priority and he’s here to assist.

Bianca was so nourishing, caring and calm. I believe sh always checked on her patients, approachable, gets back to you so quickly when you ask a question. She makes you feel that you are her most important patient, I believe she does this with all the patients. Always before she leaves let’s her patients know and asks do you need me to do anything for you. She will not leave until she has everything you need looked after and sorted out for you, she’s such a lovely person.

I believe there is a rule in customer service across any field of work, your first and final contact are the most crucial for any business, and I’m so glad I experienced that with Charms who, in my opinion, is so polite, professional and knowledgeable, gentle with her check ups.Does not matter if it’s the middle of the night I believe she’s always there to assist and always has a lovely smile on her face. She made my nights easier to bare with her kindness. She followed up on my transportation for my MRI, they were coming to pick me up way too early, got them to come close to the appointment the in the morning, was so kind to wake me up, so that I have time to get ready. She always made you feel it’s ok we’re here to assist you and look after you.

I really would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris, Bianca and Charms for all your help and care, for being so professional apathetic and caring and for going the extra mile for your patients and showing them you are happy to see them as I believe we all feel miserable, scared and lonely in hospitals. All three of you brighten up the days and nights. In my opinion, you are an asset to the hospital, I believe you all have qualities that can not be taught, they are genuinely deep inside each of you and I wish all the success in your career and I hope you will be recognised for all you do and how hard you work, I have not seen any of them, in the 3 nights I have stayed at the hospital, not happy and not smiling.

Thank you so much. You are the three nurses that have me convinced that there are people who care and are willing to help you when you are so weak and vulnerable.

Dear pagergj74,

Thank you for such fabulous feedback for our nursing staff Chris, Bianca and Charms. It is wonderful to hear of their professionalism, empathy, kindness and genuine caring nature.

Ensuring that our patients feel safe and informed in their treatment and reassured whilst they are in our care is one of our key priorities as an organisation and it is always excellent to hear when this is done to an exemplary level.

I am most pleased to be able to share this feedback with Chris, Bianca and Charms and their Nursing Unit Manager.

All the best and happy Easter.

Regards,

Alan
