I had a minor procedure done at Sydney hospital.
I felt so silly being there during “COVID-19” for what I believed to be such a small injury. I’d convinced myself I would be a burden. Instead, from the moment I arrived, bright & early - the treatment I received was the total opposite. I had the most supportive, funny, kind & generous nurses assisting me through every step. I felt like I was a friend not just “another patient”.
They assured me my injury was not “minor” and made me feel so much less anxious about being there. I wish I remembered every name from the nurse who checked me in & helped me get dressed, to the theatre nurse who ran around like crazy trying to contact a family member for me to let her know to leave later. They were all so incredible.
But it was after my procedure when I met the lovely Estelle and Natasha who took care of me right until I was picked up! Such beautiful, kind nurses these two were. They made me feel like a friend & most of all, I felt I was their priority. I had so much fun chatting to these nurses & they went above and beyond to make sure I felt seen, comfortable & calm.
I have so much respect for all health care workers - but how amazing are nurses? In my opinion, you’re all so incredible and go above and beyond for everyone you meet.
To all the nurses at Sydney Hospital, especially Estelle and Natasha ... thank you for making me laugh, helping me get dressed, running around crazy for me but most of all for making me feel seen during one of the craziest times in all our lives. I believe you guys are all so amazing.
Thank you!
