(as the patient),

In the last 9 months I've had several unfortunate accidents which have found me in Broome Hospital ED, with one admission to the ward for a few days.

I had recovered from a fractured knee, only to have it reinjured again,  thankfully not fractured, but still needing physio. I was progressing really well, with the telehealth reviews with Hannah providing me with ongoing assessments and exercise regimes.

Recently I was bucked off my usually very quiet horse. I had a feeling I may have done a bit more damage than a bruised bottom and pride, but decided to hold off getting checked to see if I recovered overnight. The following morning, I had my usual telehealth review with Hannah for my knee, and I explained to her what had happened. Hannah was very supportive and able to assess my new injuries and based on the symptoms advised me to be seen by a doctor.

I had X-rays and assumed all was ok as I hadn't heard anything. Hannah phoned me this afternoon to check in with how I was feeling and advised that she had discussed my X-rays with radiology, and my GP and they agreed I should come back for further X-rays. Hannah arranged for the X-ray request and follow up with doctors in ED. When I arrived at ED following the X-ray, Hannah had provided the triage nurse with a thorough handover and a request to contact her when I arrived.

The subsequent X-ray did reveal a fracture in my pelvic bone. Hannah came to ED to follow up and review the X-rays with the doctors who had initially missed the fracture. Hannah was a wonderful advocate and support, encouraging the Doctors to review what she thought was fractured based on my symptoms.

I'm very grateful to Hannah for all of her care in the time that I have been her patient. In my opinion, her follow-up and communication with radiology,  my GP and ED doctors demonstrate compassion, dedication and commitment to her patients and profession. My gratitude also to ED Doctors, nurses and radiology and other Physios that have managed and treated my injuries over the previous months. The ward staff, nurses, kitchen staff and cleaners have all displayed a level of kindness, compassion and thoroughness and willingness to often go above and beyond!

Many thanks again for providing a wonderful service.
