"Wonthaggi Hospital Emergency"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

We recently attended the Wonthaggi Emergency Department, just after midday with my spouse who had a broken wrist. After the usual wait (not complaining), X-rays, consulting, the lovely female doctor explained that it was a serious break and although the procedure could be done there, she recommended we attend a different hospital in case there were any reactions to medication or complications as they were better equipped.

The procedure was done at another hospital that night, no problems, but as a precaution, stayed overnight, for Orthopaedic surgeons to view X-rays, after which they recommended surgery for a better outcome.

Our many thanks to the doctors at Wonthaggi for their professional care, resulting in the best treatment for my spouse.

Dear empathyjm48,

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback - I must say it's not often that we are thanked for sending people onto another hospital - but you absolutely nailed it when you said it resulted in the best treatment for your spouse.

Every health service has to know their limitations and I am so pleased that your transition to another service ended up with your spouse having a good outcome. I hope the wrist is healing well.

All the best,

Jan
