I slipped on water on my wooden floorboards and fell and fractured my pelvis. I was in intense pain and couldn’t move for 3 hours until the ambulance arrived. Everyone from the ambulance was caring and compassionate.
They managed to get me to the Margaret River Hospital ED. I was very well looked after in ED and transferred to the general ward. I have received so much care, support and kindness from all the staff. My Doctor has been incredible and visited me each day. Everyone on the nursing staff who I've seen have looked after me in all aspects with lots of cheer. Even when I was suffering from pain they all made me smile and feel better.
I’ve been lucky enough to receive help from the physio, physio assistant and OT. The OT has been to my home and assisted my spouse in making my return home easier. Orderlies and kitchen staff have been understanding of my needs and gone out of their way to please me. As a diabetic, they have given more options that suit me. Overall, my experience here has been heartwarming and I’m very grateful that the Margaret River Hospital is, I feel, staffed by such lovely people.
