"Internal telephone"

About: Canberra Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently, I tried to find a social worker at Canberra hospital. I haven't been to this hospital in many years so went to your information desk where an, in my opinion, uninterested staff member told me to use the internal phone, indicating it was somewhere around the desk.

I did find the phone and was horrified to see there was no hand sanitiser, no wipes, no tissues, no safety protection with it or near it at all. I did use it but was so disturbed by the situation, I took a photograph of it the next day.

I'm visiting my child at the hospital and will be doing so for a long time to come. How can the hospital have all the precautions at the front of the hospital as you walk in and have this virus trap sitting on the information desk?  It was being used on the day I took the photograph and I saw it every day during that week.

The person who directed me to it was, in my opinion, disinterested and that too is a sad reflection on service to patrons who are coming to the hospital, worried about their person and needing assistance; not disinterest.
