During the afternoon recently, I presented at the Sydney Eye Hospital for treatment, and, consequently, had occasion to use one of the two 'unisex' toilets that are located off the Emergency Department's waiting room.
I was both amazed and quite annoyed that, obviously due to a lack of adequate maintenance of the cleaning staff, in my opinion, there was absolutely no paper towelling or, alternatively, an electric hot air hand dryer available.
This, to me, is totally unacceptable in a healthcare establishment ... and particularly so in a period of time that everyone is strongly being encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus that is presently permeating our society.
I believe it is absolutely essential for NSW Health to lift its game and ensure that all of the hospitals (and other healthcare establishments) under its control are continuously kept spotlessly clean and serviceable.
