"Compassionate care"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Feeling very stupid after I fell whilst caring a load of wood and cracked a couple of ribs, I attended the Margaret River Hospital Emergency Department.   The staff there were so kind and caring and didn't make me feel stupid but rather reassured me and validated my pain (which was terrible).

It is understandable that health care workers are professional but to get healthcare that is compassionate and caring like the care I received is next level.

Nurse Andy shared his story of cracked ribs and agreed that it is painful, he was so lovely not only to me but I heard him with other patients in the department and I believe he was the same to them!

Doctor Bec was proficient and reassured me that it was important to get onto the pain and if I get short of breath to come back ASAP. The department was busy but they took the time to explain my recovery and medications; nothing was too much trouble. I am humbled by this experience and cannot thank them enough.
