1st incident: I attended the Cowes 24/7 clinic with a sore tooth and the left side of my face was like a balloon from my eye to my neck. I was advised to take Panadol and go home.
Less then 12 hours later I was in the Emergency Department at the hospital getting transported for emergency surgery. I had 22 teeth removed as I had 3 abscesses down my jawline which the surgeon described as very dangerous.
2nd incident: I had arrived home after back surgery and the dressing had slightly removed itself by sticking to my t-shirt. The dressing was put on by a nurse so it was not the original surgical dressing. The nurse and doctor at the hub refused to re-apply my dressing or offer any alternatives.
I understand some doctors may not like removing dressing after surgical procedures but as I had explained, my surgery was a week before and the surgical dressing had been removed.
I have had numerous falls, continuous extreme pain but I refuse to go to the hub. I’m sure they are very useful in regards to minor incidents but anything you think may be moderate to major, in my opinion, do not waste your time. I feel staff can be rude when you question them or the doctor. I may have expected too much but I felt even some advice would have helped.
