My parent recently attended Kalamunda Hospital for a day surgery procedure. The whole journey was really good. The pre-admission information right through to the admission were easy to navigate and well done by all staff. However, it is the post-surgery care I would really like to commend.
My parent was initially fine post-surgery and I was called to pick them up, however, on arriving at the hospital, it was clear my parent was not doing well. Their nurse, Amanda, communicated effectively to my parent and me the complication (low blood pressure) and how they were managing it, their expectations and pathways of care should my parent deteriorate.
The staff, especially Amanda, were professional, kind, compassionate and, most importantly, competent. Thank you Kalamunda Hospital Day Surgery unit for providing my parent with great care, especially post-surgery. It is much appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed.
