"A big thank you to you all"

About: Kerang Hospital

(as the patient),

I was a patient at Kerang Hospital recently for minor surgery. From the time I entered the hospital, I felt like a patient, not another surgery case.

Every staff member, from the front desk to the theatre staff and all members in between treated me with respect and care. A big thank you to all of them. To Margy, Jill and Millie from the pre-op to aftercare, I cannot thank you all enough.

Nothing was too much trouble (not that I bothered you for anything) but I heard other patients ask and you all did this without the smile on your faces disappearing.

Not that I am wishing to go back to any hospital soon, but if I did I would choose Kerang Hospital in a heartbeat. A big thank you to you all. You all deserve a pat on the back! Much appreciated.

The only suggestion that I would make, although there is a disabled toilet in the area, I would attach a handrail in the other toilet because after surgery some people feel a little unsteady on their feet and I believe that this would give them the stability that they might need.

Thanks again.

Dear oscarns98,

I loved reading your story. So pleased that you had such a positive experience at KDH.

In such a year of uncertainty with the COVID pandemic, the staff have been working extra hard to ensure that our surgical patients continue to receive the excellent care they so deserve.

We have a very caring, professional team, from administrative staff through to nursing staff, surgeons and anaesthetists who all display the wonderful values that we are so proud of in our organisation.

This lovely complimentary feedback will put a spring in their steps in what continues to be a very trying time for all of us!

Much appreciated,

Kellie

Dear oscarns98,

Thank you for taking time to send in your feedback about your experience at KDH, and for the positive remarks about the whole team that looked after you, from administration, admission to discharge. It is great to hear that the KDH values of "Caring, Accountability, Respect and Excellence" were reflected in your care.

I have passed on your comments to the team and they were pleased to hear such positive feedback too. (Lots of smiling faces) Your suggestion for a handrail in the toilet/bathroom is a great one for added safety and helpfulness. I have requested the maintenance staff to install one as soon as possible. I wish you well and thanks again for your kind remarks.

Warmest Regards

Margy

Dear oscarns98,

Following on from your great suggestion of a handrail in the bathroom, I would like to let you know that this has been completed. It has proven to be a beneficial aid to many other patients. Thanks again for this practical suggestion.

Kind regards

Margy
