"The care I received while on holidays in Augusta"

About: Augusta Hospital Fiona Stanley Hospital / Respiratory Medicine Department & Ward 5D

(as the patient),

Recently, while on holiday at Augusta, I was admitted to Augusta Hospital with severe heart & lung problems. I could not breathe at all.

The staff at Augusta Hospital were excellent and are to be highly commended. The Doctor in charge was Dr Garetn. After four hours, I was flown from Augusta by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Fiona Stanley Hospital. The staff there were also marvellous and very competent.

I awoke early the following morning in the Lung Ward on the 5th floor of Fiona Stanley Hospital. I remembered nothing of the past events until I talked to my spouse. I was absolutely amazed; These two medical teams at Augusta and Fiona Stanley saved my life. I am truly grateful for their skill, dedication and care.

While at Fiona Stanley I was treated with great care, consideration and friendliness. In charge were Doctor Li Ping, a Lung Specialist and Doctor Michael.

Throughout my stay there I was looked after by various Nurses, their names were Aida, Essa, Merlin, Emma, Luke, Valerie, Amberely and Annaliese. The Physios were Monica, Tenne and intern, Bec. I do hope that I have not forgotten anyone.

Thank you very, very much to all the staff that looked after me so well. It is much appreciated. I feel very blessed.

Love & hugs.

Dear venusjm84,

Thank you very much for taking time to provide feedback on Care Opinion about your recent visit to the Emergency Department at Augusta Hospital. It is wonderful to receive such positive feedback and I have passed on your message to the doctor and nurses involved with your care.

It is great to see that the teamwork between the hospital staff, the Emergency Telehealth Service and RFDS resulted in a fantastic outcome for yourself and your family.

We are very happy to hear that you have recovered, and we hope you can return to beautiful Augusta soon to finish your holiday.

Regards,

Colin Bristow
