I came into Kalgoorlie hospital with abdominal pain and vomiting (I am more than half-way through my pregnancy). I was seen to promptly and given fantastic care, that is, until I showed signs of improvement. I recovered quite quickly, which apparently was the wrong thing to do.
I was able to overhear my Dr outside my room doing handover and they said I was exaggerating my pain and was most likely lying. Throughout the night (because I was asked to stay) I was able to hear midwives and nurses whining about patients on the ward, including myself. I feel it was so incredibly rude and disrespectful - they probably assume patients are asleep in the early hours of the morning and won't hear them.
The following morning I was told I would be sent home. The wait to be discharged was ridiculous. I was told I would be sent home and that I would see the Dr to discharge me at in an hour. Two hours later there was still no sign of seeing someone to let me go anytime soon. This was incredibly frustrating. I understand I am in hospital and should be patient, but life outside the hospital is a challenge to balance whilst being held here.
