It was my first pregnancy. I had very normal pregnancy throughout. Although I have been allotted three different midwives (Delaney, Tess & Shirley), all were very consistent and helpful.
Shirley was at the final stage of labour too. I had bit complications for not starting contractions even after 40 weeks. Shirley performed stretch and sweep. I had fresh blood loss after that. She asked me to get admitted immediately.
The next day the Foley bulb induction procedure was performed. Finally after 24 hrs still when contractions didn't start they gave Oxytocin and started labour. With labour for all 12 hrs of it I didn't feel lost. I felt I was well taken care of. Shirley made it a smooth and trustable environment.
After birth I was moved to the birth ward. I am immensely thankful tonight duty midwife ... I should have got her name. I was tired and unable to feed my newborn properly but she was there to change my pads, give me medicines, soothe my baby and feed them a bottle with my permission. She didn't get angry or frustrated at all. I will never forget what she has done for me. May god bless her.
