In the last few years I have only used Drug and Alcohol, healthy minds and Wyla rehab. My story about rehab.
I lost everything and I thought I had the perfect life. Rehab has taught me different but the start wasn't great to be honest.
Now that I have finished, I can honestly say that in my opinion, some of the staff are just here to get paid, others I believe are just on a power trip and a few I feel really do care.
One thing I don't agree with is been made to use a doctor I feel is incompetent and should not be working in a rehab if at all working.
The list could go all day but things like, in my opinion, management not knowing the client's story when trying to chastise them, searchers of rooms for contraband being targeted, I believe, at some clients and not others.
I believe clients have been left to basically fend for themselves when the Chef calls in sick and having pizza 3 times in 5 days and a client being the chef when it is one of their triggers (yes me). I believe I was been told not to follow food safety laws when I am a food safety supervisor.
I felt staff were treating us like we are in prison when we are here to help ourselves. I feel I had to fight to get accepted. Giving warnings to clients for not doing duties and attending meetings when I believe others just get away with it constantly.
Staff playing with their phones in groups and meeting while clients can't access their phones. This could go on a lot more but I won't.
Now for the good things. The staff who do care, and I would gladly recommend to be and, I believe, should be caseworkers and team leaders - Renee, Jody, Cassie, Frank, Norm and Anita.
