"Appointment waiting times"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / 2 West & Hand Clinic

(as the patient),

I made an appointment to see a specialist for my hand at midday. I didn't see my specialist but ended up seeing a doctor 2 and a half hours after my scheduled appointment.

I had a carer with me that was only supposed to be with me until 3 pm as they had another client to attend at 4 pm. I believe the staff member at reception knew I was with a carer. No one seemed to listen to me about the fact I had a carer.

In my opinion, the doctor looked like an intern. I ended up only being seen for about 2-3 minutes.

I am disappointed because the waiting time then caused my carer to be late attending their next client.

Dear moonrm96,

I am sorry to hear that your experience with the Hand Clinic did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We know there are issues with the waiting times for clinic appointments for some specific clinics and the team are currently reviewing the process to improve this for our patients. Your feedback has been sent to the Hand Unit Team to assist with their review.

Again I apologise for the delay this coursed you and your carer, we value you time and feedback.

Kind regards

Alan
