The staff at Wonthaggi Hospital that attended to me were friendly and knowledgeable. They made my birth experience stress free.

I ended up with an emergency caesarean section and stayed in for five days recovering. 

I requested a vegan menu and the kitchen did an OK job in my opinion. Breakfast was standard. Lunch was great. A delicious fresh salad. I felt dinner was disappointing. One night was risotto, topped with plain rice. The next night was leftovers! 

The doctor who discharged me tried to convince me that I would only need panadol when I got home, telling me that most women only need panadol after a caesarean. I pushed for them to give me a script for a stronger pain relief.

Firstly, my sincerest apologies for the delay in responding. I actually thought I had responded on the day I received this and have just had a reminder to respond which means for some reason, my original response didn't get through. My apologies!

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and congratulations!. It sounds like the important things went well, and that you had a positive birthing experience which is our ultimate goal. It also sounds like we need to do some work on our vegan meals. I will make sure that we review our choices and offerings in this regard.

It's always a tricky balance managing pain and not overdoing medication; I hope things are ok for you now. We wish you all the best with your new family.
