I was having angina attacks for some time and put it down to reflux, as I suffer from that. In hindsight, I think I knew it could be something else but ignored it.
Last year, I had that same feeling which normally settled down if I sat still and relaxed, but not this time, the pain got worse quickly. We called the ambulance and they were fantastic. They got me to the mac just in time.
Two stents to my LAD and some excellent surgery and care from the staff and I'm like new.
Over a year later, I am very disappointed with the cardiac outpatients dept. I was told the 12-month follow up was the most important, but my original appointment was delayed for a month, then another month and then told a phone call for the month after that. They didn't ring. When I rang concerned, they said they will get on to it and apologised. Since then they have not contacted me and I believe have ignored my doctor's letters and hung up on my doctor. If my medication is incorrect and I have problems due to, what I believe, is their neglect, it has now been recorded.
