Several years ago, I got an MRSA infection through poor infection control in another hospital interstate.
Recently, I am in St Andrew’s in Brisbane and I see things have not improved much in Australian hospitals, in my opinion.
Virtually no hand hygiene because of what I believe to be:
- Very few hand rub distributors, making practising hygiene difficult
- Very poor hand hygiene awareness and practice.
Leaving soon and I feel I’ll be lucky to escape without some multi resistant bacteria infection.
