First, the appointment was made and sent out via letter, we called to request a revised time, this was agreed over the phone and then the second letter was sent with a different time than what was agreed. When we then called back to enquire, we were given a lecture about how it is the consultant's choice to reschedule appointments based on their private practice requirements or it could have been an ill child from the country requiring care.
When we explained that the reason we had waited a further month was to not have our child miss more school during this incredibly hard year for Victorian school children, we were then told that this could be a moot point if we waited until January for an appointment.
Honestly, it made us as parents feel like our concerns for our child were irrelevant. This year has been extremely difficult and the last thing we needed was to be spoken to like idiots.
