After my waters broke I called the maternity ward at Busselton hospital. I was asked to come in the following morning for an antibiotic drip. We returned every 4 hours thru the day and stayed in overnight.
I was put on an oxytocin drip in the morning so that's when the contractions really started. The midwife was able to properly break my waters in the afternoon which is when the real labour began. But after a few hours, my cervix wasn't dilating and after an epidural and consultation, I decided to have a caeserean.
Our baby was delivered within the hour and I knew we had made the right decision. We are extremely grateful to the team of doctors and midwives who helped us through this traumatising and emotional experience.
