I understand hospitals are busy, but in my opinion, you should not forget you have a primary duty of care. Our first visit was an 8 hour wait not because of the people in front of us but I believe because the nurse had literally forgot to process us to doctors. When we finally saw the doctor at early hours of the morning we waited in the doctor's room which was a complete mess, bandages on the floor and powder, I felt it was disgusting, only to be told by the doctor that it was all good and my parent could go home. Literally a 8 hour wait for a 5-minute check.
2 weeks later my parent's symptoms have gotten worse and they had checked themselves in again to emergency. When they were discharged I believe they were not given any advice or discharge notice and I had to go back to see what was going on only to be spoken to by an extremely rude receptionist that I felt literally didn't want to answer simple questions. I couldn't get a discharge notice as I was rudely told it was sent to my parent's doctor which 3 days later, I took my parent to and nothing was sent to the doctor at all!
It makes me sick to my stomach on what we experienced. I felt no doctor showed any genuine care and it seemed they all just want to go home and not actually do their job. I felt the staff we dealt with are extremely rude except for 1 or 2 staff members who were able to help me (forgot their names). Now the doctor has told me that this could be serious and my parent needs to do another CT scan because scans from the hospital or any documents were not sent!
I will take this further, this is a joke and regardless of my parent's condition, you will be held accountable. I am actually appalled by the service I received from my local hospital.
