"Temperature in waiting room"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

It wasn't totally unexpected, but I had to wait a long time. I was mentally prepared, but not physically prepared for the cold room temperature. I believe I wasn't the only one cold. I felt quite uncomfortable waiting through the night for 4+ hours.

Dear Dunno678,

We are sorry to hear about your recent experience at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Air-conditioning in the hospital is set at different temperatures in different areas, based on clinical need.

Without knowing exactly where you were in the hospital it is difficult to comment on the circumstances. For example, the waiting area in ED is set at 23°C and the sensor in this area shows that the temperature has been controlled to within 1.5 degrees of that temperature. Checks are being conducted into the positioning of the sensor in ED and if necessary, it will be repositioned.

If you are feeling cold or hot at the hospital again, please do not hesitate to let a staff member know so they can assist you at the time.

Many thanks for your feedback.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty
