"Outpatient referral"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Kalgoorlie Outpatient Clinic

(as the patient),

Several months ago I was admitted into hospital with a fairly large blood clot in my lung. Since then I have been on blood thinners and referred to a haematologist. My first appointment with the specialist, they sent out a referral for an echo scan for me.

A month went by and nothing had been done. I called the hospital and they said the specialist hadn’t sent anything. This continued for a few months until my last appointment with the specialist where they informed me they had sent it out and it was the admin or office staff that hadn’t processed it.

I have since had a second referral sent out which I’m hoping gets seen to but in the meantime, the hospital has cancelled all my appointments with the other doctor I was seeing without informing me. At this appointment, I was hoping to get a script refill as well as follow up on more paperwork and referrals but I guess I will just have to waste my time again calling the office and chasing my tail again.
