"My ED admission"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I collapsed from dehydration after attending Aqua Aerobics & standing at the back of a very warm funeral parlour & had very little to drink for the day, after very little water the day before. Was taken to ED by ambulance after assistance by nurses at the funeral.

Once admitted was immediately put on an ECG machine with blood taken & all possible tests done by Dr Emma. It was determined that it was dehydration but as I had a fainting episode many yrs before giving blood it was decided to monitor me for 5hrs, to which Dr Geoff talked about a CT scan of my head to check for bleeding. I had this done with the results being all clear much to my relief. Apart from the long wait which I understood, staff that attended to me were caring & Drs brilliant.
