(as the patient),

I booked for a colonoscopy but suffer from extreme anxiety. I met with the anethitist who was so lovely. He completely understood my circumstances and said that on the day he would explain everything he did when it was happening to ease my anxiety (which he did). 

On the day, the staff were amazing from start to finish. The procedure and lead up were explained as it went along which totally eased my anxiety and the procedure went along with no issue. 

I thank all the staff for their support and care. It does make a difference to the patients experience.

I am so glad your whole process went well, and as you said, explaining the whole process from start to finish by the anaesthetist and all the staff members really helped ease your anxiety. Anxiety before a procedure is not uncommon, so it is wonderful to hear that the Anaesthetist and the nursing staff were able to successfully alleviate your anxiety both leading up to and on the day of the procedure.
