About: Rockingham General Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

In my opinion, the waiting times are absolutely appalling. Yes, I understand that it’s really busy.

You see some staff members sit down and have a chat and a laugh and care to check to see if you're ok. I mean, do you have to start deducting their pay so they think if they don’t do their job they will get paid less?

I believe they need to hire more staff and be more proactive about what they do.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your recent experience at Rockingham General Hospital.

We always endeavour to see all patients as soon as practicably possible, however the department is often very busy and sometimes a serious emergency can occur which requires additional support from doctors and nurses. This unfortunately can affect the wait times for patients to be seen and as such I sincerely apologise for the waiting times you have experienced. Should you wish for us to further investigate the details of your presentation, I would encourage you to contact our Consumer Liaison Officers on 9599 4323 and we will follow up directly with staff on duty that day.
