"Outstanding care from all staff"

This is a very belated thank you letter for the excellent treatment I received at the Hedland Health Campus recently.

From the time I entered your ED department until I was able to leave Hospital 17 days later, the level of care I received was outstanding, from the most junior of nursing staff through to the most senior inclusive of the Doctors and Radiologists.

I really appreciated the fact that the nursing staff listened to how I was feeling and acted accordingly with the appropriate treatment. The persistence of your doctors to get my illness under control, along with their time spent with me to explain what was going on and plans put in place for treatment was far above what I had recently experienced in another hospital.

I felt that I was able to establish a rapport with the staff, many of which I got to know on a first-name basis. On occasions, our conversations were accompanied by some banter and humour certainly one of the better remedies while in hospital.

I would also like to give a special thanks to the kitchen and cleaning staff for the excellent job they do and one I am sure gets taken for granted and does not get acknowledged that often. They were very pleasant and professional in their day to day tasks and were also a pleasure to get to know.

As much as I would like to acknowledge all the above individually, some may have moved on or might not even remember who I was. I trust this letter will get passed on to the staff as an acknowledgement to them and they can all take some credit for the fantastic job they are doing.

Many people are quick enough to complain and very few take the time simply just to say thank you. I would like to think Hedland Health Campus Directors and Managers appreciate they have got some exceptionally good ambassadors working for them and this brief letter is an acknowledgement of this.

Dear thubanqj38,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such lovely feedback regarding the care you received by our staff members at the Hedland Health Campus. It seems you have had a very challenging health experience with an extended stay at the campus.

I am very pleased to hear the care provided to you by our clinical and support services staff was such a positive experience. Particularly with the medical team’s determination in providing effective treatment by listening to you and communicating the health treatment plans required to bring you back to good health. It is very important to develop a positive rapport with our health professionals, so we feel trust and supported, and it certainly sounds like this has been your experience. It is also very beneficial to our overall wellbeing to be able to share a laugh and light banter.

Our Patient Support and Hotel Services Teams are essential to the smooth running of our health services. We appreciate all their hard work and efforts to ensure our consumers are made to feel comfortable and well cared for. I will be passing your feedback on to the teams and congratulating them for demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
