Our dear Dad was transferred to Bridgetown Hospital, initially as a step-down to possibly prepare for home, but as it came about, was actually for end-of-life care.
The medical staff, nursing staff and support staff that attended to us were/are exceptional. Even on the rare occasion when a family member was not present, we never felt Dad was on his own. Dad spent all but 4 years of his life in Bridgetown, I believe he was well known to most staff. I felt the Doctors worked as a team, the nursing staff were sensitive and sensible in their care, and support staff were always on hand for anything we asked for.
Some of the big hospitals might have the Specialists and the latest equipment but in my opinion, what Bridgetown Hospital has is more important - they have the time and ability to care - something that I believe seems to be lost in other facilities.
A huge thank you to all staff.
