"My partner"

About: Cowes Phillip Island Health Hub

(as a relative),

My partner went to the Hub in Cowes recently. Their symptoms were severe abdominal pain in the right lower quadrant, vomiting and minor loose bowel movements.

My partner was told they were too old for appendicitis.

Take panadol.

A few days later, my partner's appendix ruptured and they were taken from Wonthaggi hospital to Melbourne for emergency surgery.

We're absolutely disgusted in how my partner was apparently just flipped off on the day we went to the Hub by some doctor who, in my opinion, was more interested in texting and laughing on their phone.

Please feel free to check my partner's administration records and find out who this doctor was.

Dear Hilux,

Your account is very troubling and I am very sorry that this was your partner’s experience at our health service. Please accept my genuine apologies.

It is very important to ensure we can prevent this from happening again. Therefore, I would be very keen for you to call me on my mobile, 0472 846 355, so that I can get your partner’s details and undertake a full review of their experience in the Emergency Department.

I hope your partner is recovering well and is now doing ok.

Kind Regards,

Jan
