I minded a friend's dog, but my cat snuck through the barrier that I had set up. I picked her up and she bit me on my left hand. The following day I went to a doctor and started antibiotics.
The doctor, at their request, checked my wound the following day. A few hours later, I had a gut feeling that all was not well with me as my arm was becoming red and painful so I drove myself to Box Hill and walked into the Emergency Department. I felt like an imposter, but as soon as I mentioned that a cat had bitten me, I was fast-tracked.
Apparently, cat bites are highly infectious! The doctors and nurses were wonderful. I cannot praise them highly enough. I spent two nights on the eighth floor and left feeling confident that I was going to be fine.
I loved the doctors in training around my bed. I loved hearing them answer questions. I was a high school teacher so I enjoy being in the presence of intelligent young people who are willing to learn.
The food was fine too.
