I was cared for after my surgery a few weeks ago. The nurses were fantastic, I was supported by the social workers who helped me with Centrelink application. So thankful for them, they were great. The social worker supported me from the time I got to King Edward until I was ready to see doctors to prepare for surgery as my partner couldn’t stay with me due to a covid lockdown in Western Australia the night before my surgery. The chaplin, nurses and doctors were very patient and caring prior and after the surgery.
I was unable to have visitors the 5 days I was in hospital due to covid. The support of the services provided while I was in hospital was very good. I was supported by the Nurses, Doctors and consultant, social worker, Dietician, chaplin, Department of Psychology, Pain specialist and pharmacist. They were all very helpful. I was able to have my family on video with the outcome of the surgery which I really appreciated as my family was able to speak to the surgeon about the outcome and future treatments.
