About: Roebourne Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I had not been feeling well for a couple of days so had a COVID test which came back negative and then my left calf muscle started swelling up.

I was quite concerned so told my wife and she took me straight to Roebourne hospital and the nurses on seeing my leg admitted me straight away and as I believe there was no doctor there, the nurses organised to speak with a doctor online and in no time they had me on antibiotics on a drip, I stayed like that for the next 2 days until I was fine to leave but can not stress enough how great the staff were at the hospital.

I feel we sell short the worth of these outlying hospitals because I believe they don’t meet the economies of scale that the accountants in government determine in my opinion, and then lose a wonderful resource for our community.

It is fantastic to hear that the nurses at Roebourne Hospital were great and that you were able to access our wonderful telehealth services for medical support. This is one of the innovative ways that we can continue to deliver quality healthcare in our smaller hospitals across country WA.
