Just a quick note of thanks for the assistance offered by all members of the Emergency Department and the AMU I interacted with. I am 'next of kin' for a friend's mother who has no relatives in Western Australia. Both sons are overseas and unable to travel and care for their mother since she moved into a care facility in June 2020 with dementia.

Staff in both units were made aware of our unique circumstance by the care facility and I received no 'red tape' issues. The level of care we received was above and beyond, especially given the number of trauma patients admitted whilst we were there. So to Dr Gary and all other staff in ED and AMU - you rock: )

Thank you for taking the time to offer thanks regarding the assistance provided to you by the Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department and AMU staff. I was pleased to hear that the level of care provided was above and beyond during what sounds like a very busy time at the hospital.

It is always heart-warming to hear when staff leave such a positive impression and it was lovely to hear there was no red tape to complicate an already difficult and stressful situation for you.

I have ensured your kind words have been passed on to Dr Gary and all involved in caring for your friend’s mother, and hope her recovery is progressing well.
