"Examinations"

About: Fremantle Hospital and Health Service / Surgical Specialty

(as the patient),

Last year I had a complaint concerning the content of a letter sent to me, explaining the procedure for the examination of my digestive system named Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. It was resolved and I did not miss the call. Thanks. Good job.

Details about my health status for my pre-admission were given and in the last few weeks I had two calls. One (a few weeks ago) reporting that due to some health and care factors my examination was transferred to another hospital from Fremantle Hospital. All good.

Recently, had the second call reporting that because of my health condition (Mesothelioma), my examinations were postponed to a few months time (letter to confirm dates).

My disease is critical, more so if care (not Chemotherapy and all other destructive treatments) to delay the progress of the disease are, I feel, tempered with.

There are pathological symptoms in my intestines and stomach, fortunately not constant. Those were the main reasons for my GP to recommend an Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy.

Furthermore, Case Reports about Mesothelioma, it can start in the colon or gastric system with the formation of Polyps due to Metastases. Well...if this is of the knowledge of the Oncologist and/or Gastroenterologist, I believe my examinations should be not delayed (perhaps) for 6 months after my pre-admission. It would give me peace of mind essential to combat this problem. I believe my gastric and intestinal symptoms that I have now for sure will not get better until then, so, why wait so long?

In my opinion if doctors take care of collateral problems by treating it themselves or referring to someone who would be able to, I believe there is a great possibility of survival or living healthier life than with conventional Cytotoxics treatments.

Gastric and Intestinal function are fundamental for the good overall work of any organ and immune system.

In my opinion, I conclude that a patient with Mesothelioma is a patient for trials because hope of cure only exists within the patient. I feel that is horribly wrong to say the least.
