"Blood nose"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department St John of God Bunbury Hospital

(as the patient),

I had a serious blood nose recently and thought it OK to take the planned trip to Nannup a couple of days later. All went well until the evening of the first night of my trip when I had another blood nose. I took things easy until a further nose bleed prompted us to leave early a couple days after that. On the way home we stopped at the Bunbury markets and it happened again. We headed to the Bunbury Emergency and entered holding my still bleeding nose and fortunately it was not busy and I was attended to by the nurse at reception. She assessed the situation and Fast-Tracked me to be attended to.

The staff I encountered were excellent in attending to my problem and Dr Berto & Dr Tom along with their excellent staff kept a constant check on the bleeding. As we were on our way home I understand they did everything to ensure I was able to get home that day rather than spend the night in Bunbury. The doctors contacted an ENT from St John of God (Rohana) who was good enough to fit me in, I think during her lunch break.

Dr Rohana cauterised the problem and after further attention I was able to venture home thanks to the excellent work of all involved from the Doctors, nursing staff and the EN&T Specialist.
