I received an urgent phone call from my GP, I have been battling a sinus and chest infection for a few weeks. I was told I should present to the hospital as my white blood cell count was extremely high. When I presented to the hospital I informed the triage nurse of what my GP had told me. I also told her I was short of breath and having trouble stopping coughing, I was told they would take another blood test and then I would see a doctor.
After 2 hours I have still not had the blood test. I was sitting there with a mask on as required. However, others in the waiting room are not wearing masks as directed at the entrance. This is a hospital, what about the COVID rules here. I have been informed the wait could be 3.5 hours. I feel this seems madness when I could possibly be infected with COVID-19, not impressed at all, sitting there having trouble breathing.
