"Fantastic staff care"

About: Kerang Hospital / Theatre

(as the patient),

I was in hospital recently and I can say that my experience was very good. The staff are always very good. I was in for a small procedure and wasn’t there long but the staff were very nice to me, and also very professional. I could mention names but it would be unfair to others. The food was also fantastic, as always!

The only thing is, we don’t have a theatre doctor. When we do get one they are good, they just don’t seem to stay. I feel we are very lucky with the hospital we have, we just need stronger GPs, as it sometimes makes it hard to get in.

Please note that having read your comments I am very pleased that your experience at Kerang District Health was very good and our staff treated you well.

I was also interested in your comments that we don't have a theatre doctor as none of our local GP's living and working in Kerang provide anaesthetics. Although this is currently the situation, we are working hard to fill this gap as soon as possible.

Apologies for my late response (I have been on leave). Thank you for your comments about your recent procedure at Kerang District Health. Receiving positive feedback about the staff who always strive to exhibit our values such as caring, accountability, respect and excellence is so appreciated. Your comments about the food being fantastic are echoed by a lot of other people who have had procedures here too. I will pass on your comments to all staff, as they love to hear this feedback and inspires them to continue. As the CEO has commented about the lack of doctors, and local anaesthetists, we are continually trying to meet this need for the community. We are grateful for the theatre services to continue with visiting anaesthetists from Bendigo. Thank you again for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion.

As much as we do not have local anaesthetists; we have two regular visiting Anaesthetists who provide an excellent quality service to the Kerang community. They love coming to Kerang and working with our team.
