"The Nurse Unit Manager listening to our concerns"

About: Griffiths Point Lodge Hostel

(as a relative),

Recently spoke with Joel, the Nurse Unit Manager at Griffith Point Lodge in San Remo.  I was impressed by the manner in which he listened to my concerns about an elderly relative who is resident at GPL.  Joel listened, gave frank and open feedback to show he understood what the health issues were with our relative; he said he would take certain actions promptly, and that the next day our relative would be seen by the doctor.  He also recognised that as the family members tasked by our relative with medical power of attorney that we needed to be kept informed to be able to provide that support.

The conversation with Joel was incredibly encouraging for the interest and care that he showed towards our relative.  :) Wow! :)  Refreshing, 'normal', acknowledging that we are on the same team supporting as best we can our family in 'care'. Kudos to Joel! Thank You!

Dear Driver,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this truly lovely feedback about Joel who is a new but extremely welcomed member of BCH. He is also much loved by the BCH team. Your post is a great reminder to all our staff, that the most important thing that we can do for any of our loved ones and family members, is to listen, genuinely and compassionately, and then to follow through and do what we commit to.

Congratulations Joel on this lovely acknowledgement and thank you for all that you do!!!

Kind Regards, Jan
