I had radiotherapy for breast cancer over several weeks in 2021, after many months of chemotherapy at Hollywood Hospital.
The standard of care I received during my course of treatment was, I felt, outstanding. I never had to wait more than ten minutes for my treatment, except once when there was an emergency and staff apologised for the delay.
All staff I saw were so professional, friendly and caring and involved me in my treatment every step of the way, patiently repeating or rephrasing anything I didn’t understand and went out of their way to alleviate any embarrassment I felt.
Staff always knew exactly what stage of my treatment I was at and even when different staff were on, they were all aware of any problems that had arisen the previous day and were concerned and caring. Any problems that arose were dealt with promptly and professionally.
I appreciated the streamlined check-in procedure and the supply of clean garments whenever I wanted them. I cannot praise staff highly enough for their professional and caring attitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you.
