"Rude staff"

About: Geraldton Hospital

(as the patient),

A PSA Staff member apparently decided it was a good idea to vacuum at 5:05 am in the morning and wake me and, I believe, several others. I have struggled to sleep due to severe stomach pains and finally got to sleep then was awoken by the noise of the vacuum and loud laughter and talking of doctors and nurses.

Dear GEROPatient,

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Geraldton Hospital, it must have been frustrating to have your sleep disturbed. Hospitals deliver care twenty-four hours per day and being able to balance the demands of this while still providing an appropriate environment for our patients to rest and recuperate can be challenging.

Your feedback has been discussed with the Support Service Manager at Geraldton Hospital and used to consider how we schedule our activities to improve care for all our consumers. We would like to be able to further review your care whilst at Geraldton Hospital and if you would like to do this I can be contacted on phone 9956 2369 or email derek.fraser@health.wa.gov.au. Your call would be welcomed and I can maintain your anonymity if you wish.

Thanks once again for sharing your feedback. I appreciate the opportunity to develop better ways to provide our care.

Regards

Derek Fraser
