"Warm, gentle, empathic and kind care"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

I've delayed this for many months as I never knew what words to say because thankyou didn't seem enough. Late last year I attended the day surgical unit for surgery for a missed miscarriage. I felt the staff working this day went above and beyond to care for me. At check in the midwife/Nurse was lovely, calm and a peaceful presence. After the surgery there was one midwife that stood out to me (I just wish I could remember her name), she was warm, empathetic, gentle and kind. I felt extremely safe, cared for and so very well supported during the entire day and I am forever grateful to the beautiful staff working on this day that made a horrible experience calm and gentle. So thankyou.

Dear guidekj75,

I am incredibly sorry to read of your loss. I understand that the loss of a pregnancy is an incredibly distressing and emotional time for parents and their families, and I thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Women and Newborn Health Service with me.

I pleased that you received the care that you needed from our staff to support you through such a difficult time. I will ensure that your kind words are provided to the staff in the Day Surgery Unit.

I hope that you and your family are able to heal together and I wish you all the best for the future.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
