I presented at Merredin ED with my toddler who had been feverish for over 48 hours and no appetite for a couple of weeks. Dr Naji was on duty and he immediately asked for a urine sample and followed on with a complete head to toe check for any signs of infection. Whilst he was doing this, he was educating both the nurse and me on where infections can hide and how he can check for them.
The urine sample showed evidence of a UTI.
Dr Naji planned on sending me home with oral antibiotics but given her poorly state, decided on a round of intravenous antibiotics to be on the safe side.
The staff at Merredin ED, Dr Naji in particular, made me feel completely safe and in good hands.
By the time I left ED 5 hours later, my toddler was laughing, her temp was down and she was looking for something to eat!
So much gratitude for the Merredin ED.
