I just want to write to support the great job that I think our local hospital is doing around covid testing.
I had to send my little one aged 4 in for a covid test as he has the snottiest cold with a light cough. Truth be told, I was wondering why I should put him through the testing....it’s just a cold right..?...there are no cases of covid around here...
But..things are probably changing with overseas travellers returning and cases of the virus popping up randomly in the state.
We went first thing to the swab test at Wonthaggi on a weekend and was immediately put at ease by security guard Michael who explained that yes the staff could swab the little one, and they are very good.
Sweet!
Onwards into the tent, and it must have been about 8 degrees outside...met by Lauren the nurse and her colleague ( I forgot his name) and I believe they are a credit to the public face of Bass Coast Health.
I explained my nervousness at having to put him through the test but Lauren immediately put me at ease and after some paperwork gently swabbed his nose without any tears or fuss (from me or him).
Thank you team!
And to everyone out there ..don’t hesitate to get them swabbed.. in my experience, it’s ok!
