I went through my first pregnancy with Sharnee as my midwife at the Family Birthing Centre. Although the labour didn't go as planned and I ended up delivering at King Edward, I couldn't be more complimentary of the support and care I received.
I first met with Sharnee prior to my 20-week scan and she was with me until labour. I feel very lucky to have had Sharnee as my midwife, she was so easy to talk to at our appointments, always made me feel at ease when I had any concerns and was extremely knowledgable.
Throughout the labour I had multiple midwives support me so thank you to Mary-Anne and Yani as well as Sharnee from the FBC. I'd also like to thank the senior doctors, student midwife Mercedes and anaesthetist Hannah at King Edward for helping deliver my healthy daughter, they were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Although it seemed like the hospital was busy and quite frenetic, the staff always ensured I was taken care of.
I stayed at King Edward overnight after my birth and the midwives left no stone unturned in ensuring my baby and I left healthy and prepared for the outside world. They consistently checked in on the both of us, did all relevant tests and addressed any concerns I had. Thank you to Pippa, Georgia and all other midwives and staff who helped me!
Although delighted to now have a healthy daughter, in a way I will miss seeing and interacting with the midwives and staff at the FBC and King Edward. Thank you again to Sharnee who was incredible as my midwife.
