My son had a bite of some sort on his upper leg which developed into a nasty infection quite rapidly. We presented to Broome Hospital in the morning on the weekend. All of the staff were just fantastic, including the nurses and the doctor/surgeon who performed the surgery on my son.
I want to make a mention of Dr Sean the anaesthetist, who took such wonderful care of my son. We did have to wait a while for his procedure as there was one before us, but Dr Sean came as often as he could and explained and apologised for the delay (completely understandable being a weekend in an Emergency Ward). My son was very nervous and apprehensive about the procedure but Sean was so caring towards him and made him feel as comfortable as he could at all times.
During the procedure he was so fantastic- it is not nice seeing your child under anaesthesia but Sean explained the process to us the whole way through and reassured us as well as my son.
Based on our experience, Broome Hospital is lucky to have Dr Sean as a part of the team, and whilst I hope we are not back there anytime soon, if we are I would feel so comfortable having any of my family in his care.
