"Cleanliness"

About: Peel Health Campus / Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

I went into a private ward recently, when I was finally able to start to look after myself. I noticed that my bathroom was not cleaned every day, my towels were not changed, no soap in the bathroom, and I had to ask for toilet rolls from nurses' station and they told me they did not have a key to the cleaner's cupboard to access toilet paper.

In no way was there any complaint about nurses and doctors. I believe they are so understaffed.

I felt the nursing staff were amazing.

My bed was not made for 4 days. As I was in a private ward, and of course I believe you know what you pay for a private room, I was not impressed at all. I did not expect this during covid.

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your experience as a patient on the private ward at Peel Health Campus.

Please be assured that we have robust cleaning procedures in place and were surprised to read that your bathroom was not cleaned every day and that your bedsheets were not changed for four days. I am sorry that this was your experience and I have asked the Hotel Services Manager to review our cleaning processes as we do not expect this to be a normal occurrence within the hospital.

Please accept our apologies that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. I trust you are recovering well from our stay in hospital.
