(as a parent/guardian),

My partner had a urgent referral for a colonoscopy at Bass Coast Health, Wonthaggi Hospital  VIC. After 3 and 1/2 months I got another referral for a surgeon at another service, emailed the referral to them, got a phone call the same day for an appointment. Within 2-3 weeks my partner had a bowel cancer operation.

I rang Bass Coast to cancel appointment and they did not even ask why.

My partner could still be waiting as I believe this hospital is totally lacking any form of leadership or compassion. In fact, I believe nearly every case is either sent to other services.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us this feedback. It is very important.

Unfortunately you have not given us enough information to investigate the reasons for your partners cancellation. Without knowing the detail, I suspect the cancellation was due to statewide restrictions due to the Pandemic but I would love to be able to follow up directly and then get back to you. Please ask your partner to call me on 0472846355 so that I can ask for name, DOB and other details to help us understand the issues.

I also note your last comment - it is factually incorrect but I am very happy to talk through those details with you and your partner when we chat.
