I found myself floundering in what I feel is the miasma labelled the public mental health care system. Obtaining a mental health care plan was simple enough with my GP but in my experience, trying to access affordable consults with psychologists/ psychiatrists, despite the apparent misnomer of access to 20 free visits to health care professionals, is challenging and counterproductively, very depressing in itself.
In my opinion, finding a practitioner who bulk bills and is available sometime before the next decade is very problematic and even the wait for an appointment at a non-bulk billing consultant is quite lengthy.
I have nothing but praise for Jazinta at LLW in Beenleigh for her support and encouragement during my battle with this and other issues recently and although I have still a long way to go I have no doubt I would have long ago given up without her help. Thank you.
