Throughout multiple admissions to EMYU, I have had the opportunity to work with multiple teams and staff to work on my mental health. Overall I have had very positive experiences which helped aid me in working towards recovery.
Although it is a tough environment to be in, I felt Dr Matthew and his team always made sure my care was met and communication was made to my team regularly to ensure we were all on the same page. The team was happy to answer any questions I had about my care and supported me in making decisions which I believe were the most appropriate at the time for my recovery.
All staff I dealt with were very respectful and knowledgeable in working in mental health and supported me through all stays, offering me pathways and external supports to assist me both in hospital and post-discharge.
In my opinion, they are always welcoming of new patients and patients returning on different types of admissions. They are very supportive of what we would like to work on during our time with them. Based on my experience, EmYu is a helpful environment as we get the opportunities to work on and learn more about recovery and techniques we can use to help us in our day to day lives, through both groups and individual sessions. I have learnt many new and helpful skills across my admissions.
This team has gone above and beyond to support me in my care both in and out of hospital, through positive and negative experiences, and I always feel comfortable knowing I can return if I need at any time, no matter the circumstances, without any judgement.
"Supportive and welcoming team"
